The Challenge
An optional feature of Boon Edam’s turnstiles is the automatic capture of visitors’ cards on exit. Initially they used a solenoid arrangement, which caused more problems than it was worth. Visitor cards were continuously becoming lodged within the card chute, causing problems for building managers and importantly the turnstile users.
With the introduction of this Nortech product, we have managed to overcome this issue immediately. People are now using their turnstiles with no issues and their passage through is much less problematic. With the introduction of ‘PulseDisplays’ to turnstiles fitted with Nortech’s card capture reader, we now make it easier for users to determine where to enter their cards. This will soon become industry standard, and Boon Edam are proud to be supporting this innovative, and protected, design. The Solution
Boon Edam adapted their turnstiles to accommodate Nortech’s innovative card capture readers, making special adjustment to their base drive mechanism to ensure the card capture readers fit professionally and ergonomically within the turnstiles. Nortech’s MRC310 card capture reader design can support most card technologies so that the turnstile’s card capture feature can be compatible with whatever access control system is being used throughout the rest of the building.
