Visitor Card Capture For Boon Edam Turnstiles
Boon Edam, a world market leader in the manufacture of revolving doors and turnstiles, used Nortech to overcome a serious problem that they had with the automatic capture of visitor cards on exit, one of the optional features of their turnstiles. With their old system, cards were continuously becoming lodged within the card chute. They adapted their turnstiles to accommodate Nortech’s card capture readers, which immediately resolved the problem. People are now using their turnstiles with no issues.
Parking Management at the Mercure Bristol Holland House Hotel
The management at the The Mercure Bristol Holland House Hotel and Spa needed to eliminate abuse of the hotel car parks by local residents and their visitors, so that a better service could be provided for hotel guests and spa users. They also wanted a cost-effective method of charging for use of the car park. A FeeMaster Parking Management System was fitted to manage access to the car park and administer parking fee collection. They now have complete control of the car park and benefit from a new revenue stream.
Harbour Master at the Helm at Exmouth Marina
The Harbour Master at Exmouth Marina needed to replace an out-dated and unreliable standalone access system with a centrally managed system that would allow only authorised users access to pontoons, toilet/shower amenities and parking facilities, and enable the harbour master to monitor who is using each facility. The Norpass3-based integrated solution installed by Clearview CCTV Limited provides access control for both marina members and temporary visitors. Staff can centrally manage the access rights of key fob holders, change PIN codes and monitor the movement of users through all control points.
Car Park Level Counting at Truro Supermarket
Nortech's NCT200 counter module provided a cost-effective level counting solution for Sainsbury's supermarket in Truro Cornwall. The compact module autonomously keeps count of free parking spaces over two levels and displays them on message signs at the car park access points.
Pil Primary School Tackles School Safety Issues
The main entrance at Pil Primary School in Bridgend was considered to be insecure during school hours and parents had been regularly found wandering around the school corridors unchecked. Keypads fitted to other external doors were not secure because pupils were memorising the PIN’s and sharing them with others. Norpass3 provided the ideal solution to control access throughout the school. All external doors were fitted with proximity card readers for entry, with push-buttons for exit. The door controllers were connected to a standard PC over the school’s IT network.
Box-it’s ID Cards Now Control Access As Well As T & A
Box-it UK, one of Europe’s largest and most successful document storage and records management businesses needed an access control solution to control 10 doors. They wanted to continue using their existing Amano Time & Attendance system cards, which are also used as employee ID badges. By fitting Norpas3 with Nortech proximity card readers that are able to read Amano T & A cards, it was possible to provide a convenient and cost-effective solution.

Lowe House Primary Care Resource Centre, a brand new Health Facility in St Helens, needed a cost-effective method of preventing unauthorised parking in its car park. Glenmorangie Singles Out Norpass3
The Glenmorangie Company Limited needed a user-friendly access control system to manage the movement of over 100 personnel within the company’s new bottling plant in Livingston. It needed to manage access to visitor areas, internal offices, warehouses and critical areas within the plant. The solution included Norpass3 software, which offered them an intuitive software tool to manage key functions such as adding and deleting cards, event reporting and the allocation of suitable access rights to staff. The customer was delighted with the system, which they found straight-forward and easy to use.
Hybrid Access Control Solution for Lydney Community School
The staff members at Lydney Community Primary School were experiencing problems with their standalone access control system, due to the tendency of the magnetic stripe cards to wear and the lack of control over the cards. They chose Nortech to resolve their problem by replacing it with a reliable, user-friendly access control solution. This comprised an IP networked CRC220 2-door controller with proximity readers to control access through the main entrance to the building, plus several compatible NanoQuest standalone door controllers to protect internal doors to restricted areas.
Newport County – Counting on Success
Newport Stadium, the home ground of Newport County AFC, a football club currently plying their trade in the Blue Square Premier. Newport were keen to upgrade their stadium to Football League status to comply with strict regulations should they achieve their target of promotion. Nortech provided VenueMaster, a turnstile monitoring and stadium count management system that allows staff access to reliable, accurate information. Newport’s stadium was later awarded an ‘A’ Grading, making it eligible to enter the Football League.

Queen's University Optimises Student Parking Resources
Queens University in Belfast needed a means of ensuring that the car parks at the Halls of Residence are used to their optimum capacity with only 172 spaces available for over 1600 students. The solution involved the use of FeeMaster to ensure that all parking spaces are fully utilised, minimising parking in roads surrounding the campus and avoiding annoyance to the local residents.
Secured Mail Opts for Multi-site Access Control
Secured Mail moved into new premises in Dartford at the end of 2010 and had an immediate requirement for a system that would enable staff to use their access cards on this site and subsequently at other UK sites in order to protect the sensitive mail in their care.
