To reduce the risk of caravan theft from a storage facility, Nortech has developed a system where all caravans and assigned towing vehicles are tagged. When there is an attempt to tow the caravan off the storage facility, the tag of the towing vehicle and the tag of the caravan are both automatically detected and checked against a database. If the tags match, the barrier will automatically open. If not, an alarm can be raised to draw attention to the potential theft. The tagging system uses one of our Automatic Vehicle Identification (AVI) Systems. The software is a specially developed system for caravan storage facilities. It also includes a caravan inventory system to ensure that the management are always aware of which caravans are on site. Applications such as these require the support of our technical team to configure the system to the customer’s needs.
