The Client

Lowe House Health Care Resource Centre (HCRC) is a state of the art community health centre located in the Duke Street area of St Helens. The centre, run by the Halton & St Helens Primary Care Trust, brings together four GP practices, numerous community facilities including a gym, out-patient services, out-posted hospital services and administrative space into one convenient Town Centre location.

The Challenge

The PCT needed a simple, cost-effective method of preventing unauthorised parking in the car park of the clinic to ensure that there were sufficient spaces available for visitors to the clinic and pharmacy.

The Solution

Broughton Controls working in conjunction with Nortech Control Systems customised a car park management solution by combining the experience, expertise and resources of the two companies.

Thanks to the cost-effective Nortime FeeMaster Lite system provided by Nortech Control Systems, Broughton Controls were able to provide traffic control barriers working alongside the FeeMaster system to maximise the potential of the PCT car park. Visitors to the clinic and the pharmacy can park in reserved spaces. When they are attended to, they are given a time and date stamped exit ticket for the car park. Unauthorised users of the car park would be unable to leave and would therefore incur a penalty. The solution enabled the PCT to eliminate any unauthorised parking.

The end result exceeded the customers’ expectations as they found the system easy to operate, flexible, unobtrusive and affordable. They concluded that they would definitely use Broughton Controls and Nortech Control Systems' products for any future projects they may have.
