CRC221-1 ONLINE SINGLE DOOR CONTROLLER

CRC221-1

'The Single Door Option'

The CRC221-1 single-door controller is part of a range of versatile modular on-line access control panels suitable for controlling access points such as doors and vehicle barriers by validating credentials such as cards, key fobs and vehicle tags.

PRODUCT FEATURES & BENEFITS

These controllers are components of an online access control system linked to Norpass3 Access Control Management Software via either TCP/IP or RS485.

The CRC221-1 can be used to control access through a single door or barriers with read-in and read-out control while supporting a wide range of managed access control features and a comprehensive range of interface formats. The enclosure houses a single-door interface module plus an integral power supply unit.

benefits

  • Easily managed using simple centralised management of data
  • Choice of mix and match module types enables cost-effective network structure
  • Support for a wide range of card formats and card reader interfaces makes it the ideal choice for enhancing an existing access control system
  • Security levels can be tailored to customer needs using optional security features
  • Improved visitor card management when used with our card capture reader
  • Meets demanding customer requirements through a choice of enclosures with tamper alarms fitted as standard plus features such as fire alarm control input, individual door alarms and configurable inputs and outputs.

Read-In/Read-Out Security for Single High-Traffic Access Points

The CRC221-1 is purpose-built for locations requiring full bidirectional credential verification at a single door—such as server rooms, executive suites, research laboratories, or pharmacy storage areas.

By validating credentials on both entry and exit, facilities gain complete audit trails and can enforce strict anti-passback policies that prevent tailgating and credential sharing.Corporate headquarters commonly deploy CRC221-1 controllers at data centre doors where compliance regulations mandate documented access logs.

Healthcare facilities use them for medication storage rooms where both entry and departure must be recorded.

The controller's fire alarm input ensures automatic door release during emergencies, while tamper detection alerts security personnel to potential intrusion attempts.

Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between CRC221-1 and CRC220 controllers? Frequently Asked Questions

The CRC221-1 provides read-in/read-out control for one door (two readers per door), while CRC220 variants offer read-in with free-exit for multiple doors. Choose CRC221-1 when you need complete entry and exit credential verification.

Can the CRC221-1 connect via TCP/IP? Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, by adding the TCP/IP-220 adaptor module, the CRC221-1 can communicate over existing Ethernet infrastructure while still allowing RS485 connection to up to 31 additional controllers.

What enclosure options are available? Frequently Asked Questions

The CRC221-1 is available in plastic enclosure (325 x 300 x 135mm) or metal enclosure (330 x 300 x 105mm), both including an integral 12V DC, 3A power supply and tamper switch.

Does the controller store events during network outages? Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, the CRC221-1 stores up to 1,700 events (sequential mode) or 1,300 events (random mode) in non-volatile memory, automatically uploading to Norpass3 when connectivity is restored.

What power does the enclosure require? Frequently Asked Questions

Enclosure models accept 240V AC mains power, which the integral PSU converts to 12V DC. Four individually fused 12V outputs power connected locking devices.
