The WP2 reads a range of 125kHz type proximity cards and tokens. These may be from Nortech’s own extensive range of electronic credentials, existing third party cards and tokens, or a combination of both depending upon the application.
The WP2 reader series offer the perfect choice of reader for new installations. The choice of supported interfaces also makes it an excellent cost-effective option for extending existing third party installations and for supporting the use of existing cards and tokens in new access control applications.

The WP2 features a flush-fit stainless steel mounting plate with a tinted ADC lens, providing physical protection against scratches, impacts, and tampering. The electronics are fully encapsulated in a polycarbonate housing for additional durability.
The WP2 carries an IP65 rating for its encapsulated electronics, providing protection against dust ingress and water jets from any direction—suitable for covered outdoor areas and locations subject to cleaning.
The WP2 supports 125kHz proximity credentials including Nortech cards, EM-type cards (used by most leading manufacturers), PAC cards and fobs (DualProx model), and Paxton cards and fobs.
The WP2 achieves a reading range of up to 50mm depending on the card technology and credential format. This shorter range compared to plastic-housed readers is a trade-off for the metal faceplate construction.
Yes, the IP65-rated encapsulated electronics enable outdoor installation in covered or semi-protected locations. The stainless steel faceplate provides excellent corrosion resistance for external environments.
