Neath Port Talbot Borough Council needed to upgrade an existing road blocker and tag system that was installed over twenty years ago and that vehicles could use the same tags as those used at Swansea University. Nortech recommended the uPASS Target readers, which have a read range of 10 metres so they could be mounted on high posts, to solve the problem of vandalism.
Nortech Count Management Avoids Congestion in Busy London Car Park
Bank Park, a car park management company that offers car park solutions whilst raising funds for local charities, recently acquired a new car park at Montrose Crescent. The car park is situated on a very busy one-way road and they needed to ensure that traffic flowed freely into the car park without causing congestion. Nortech provided a standalone counting system together with a single high-intensity RGB LED sign to display the number of available spaces or to display ‘FULL’ when no spaces are available.
Transit to the Rescue at Complex Vehicle Access Sliding Gate System
Heron Bros. award winning construction company needed cars, vans and HGV lorries to access their new garage via a narrow single-track road and through two 7m sliding gates. For cars and vans one gate would open, and for HGV vehicles both gates would open. With the help of Nortech, Inova specified a system using two Nedap Transit long-range readers together with CRC200 and Norpass3 software. The installers were able to adjust the position and angle of each reader to detect tags in all type of vehicle.
uPASS Reach Provides Primary Vehicle Access Solution for Science Park
Exeter Science Park required a vehicle access control solution to resolve problems at its 2 entry lanes and 3 exit lanes. They were each fitted with a barrier, a HD ANPR camera and a uPass long-range tag reader. The uPass long-range tag was used as the primary method of access control. It has allowed a quicker throughput through the barrier, whilst improving security on vehicle access.
ANPR Enables UWC Atlantic to Control Access to its Car Park

Upass Facilitates Asset Management at Caravan Storage Site
BTT Comms designed an ‘airlock’ system for Border Caravan Storage to improve caravan security and asset management. The solution uses an existing access control system and the uPASS long range reader with two separate electronically controlled gates to only permit valid caravan and towing vehicle combinations to enter or leave the site. The new system provides information in real time and site managers know which caravans and owners are on site at any time giving them total peace of mind.
